Wayne County Community College District’s Institute for Social Progress (ISP) is pleased to announce it has been accepted as a full member of the National Coalition on School Diversity.

The National Coalition on School Diversity (NCSD) is a network of national civil rights organizations, university-based research centers, and state and local coalitions working to expand support for government policies that promote school diversity and reduce racial isolation. Other members of the NCSD include the Civil Rights Project/Proyecto Derechoes Civilies at UCLA, the Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society at UC Berkeley, the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at The Ohio State University, and more.

The inclusion of the Institute for Social Progress as a full member of the NCSD follows ISP’s most recent recognition as a signatory to an amicus brief that Justice Kennedy cited in the Supreme Court’s June 2015 ruling on fair housing in Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs v. The Inclusive Communities Project, Inc.
